A charity film event put on by the Embassy of Canada in Ireland and the Alzheimer Society of Ireland.

On the occasion of National Canadian Film Day 2024, the Embassy of Canada in Ireland and the Alzheimer Society of Ireland are presenting Tu te souviendras de moi (You Will Remember Me), a touching 2022 film about growing friendship between a retired professor who is losing his memory and his young caregiver, a relationship that gives meaning to both their lives. Presented in French with English subtitles.
All proceeds from the sale of tickets will benefit the Alzheimer Society of Ireland, so join us Monday 15 April at 6:30pm at the Lighthouse Cinema!

À l'occasion de la Journée nationale du cinéma canadien 2024, l'Ambassade du Canada en Irlande et la Alzheimer Soceity of Ireland présentent « Tu te souviendras de moi », un film touchant de 2022 sur l'amitié naissante entre un professeur retraité qui perd la mémoire et sa jeune aidante, une relation qui donne un sens à leur vie à tous les deux. Présenté en français avec sous-titres en anglais.

Come From Away

Winner of four Olivier Awards including Best New Musical in London and the Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical on Broadway, Come from Away shares the incredible real-life story of the 7,000 air passengers from all over the world who were grounded in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland in the days following 9/11, and the small Newfoundlander community that invited these ‘come from aways’ into their lives with open hearts.

Written by the married Canadian writing team, Irene Sankoff and David Hein, Come From Away was originally developed at the Canadian Music Theatre Project at Sheridan College. Irene and David were nominated for Tony Awards for Best Book and Score, Grammy Awards for Best Musical Theatre Album, and won the 2017 Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk awards for Best Book.
